Custom written files vs Generic files?

Like everything, when you purchase a product or service there are some bad, some good and some brilliant, and re-mapping is no different. One of the main things you need to know is, ‘am I having a custom written file for my vehicle’. This is so critical, and I cannot tell you how important and often overlooked it can be:

Here are a few things to consider to ensure you are getting a genuine ‘custom’ written re-mapping service:

  • Each re-map should be specific to your vehicle, no two are the same.
  • The re-map should be able to be customised to your specification, performance, economy or a blend of both
  • It should take approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete the process not a quick 25 minutes in and out
  • The remap should be able to accommodate aftermarket modifications such as air filters, exhausts etc, generic files can’t do this and it will  ultimately lead to a failure
  • The remap should be able to accommodate aftermarket modifications such as air filters, exhausts etc, generic files can’t do this and it will  ultimately lead to a failure
